Congressus XIV Internationalis Fenno-Ugristarum
Tour to the University of Tartu Archives of Estonian Dialects and Kindred Languages
August 21st 16:00-17:00, free of charge, duration: 1 h.
One group available (in English), max 10 people within the group.
The University of Tartu Archives of Estonian Dialects and Kindred Languages (AEDKL) is a collection of linguistic materials managed by the University of Tartu, Institute of Estonian and General Linguistics. The archives contain sound recordings of Estonian dialects and Finno-Ugric languages, unpublished manuscripts, including student report papers and thesis written at the Institute of Estonian and General Linguistics, transcriptions and written notes on Estonian and Finno-Ugric languages, photos and video recordings from field-work expeditions and linguistic events. The tour will be guided by the AEDKL administrator Tuuli Tuisk who will firstly give an overview of the history of the archives and will also introduce the web archive. After that we will take a closer look at the archive rooms.
